NORWELL, MA–In 2018, after more than ten years of building his foundation in commercial real estate, David Ellis made the decision to go out on his own and found Ellis Realty Advisors, which started as a two-employee operation in a rented office in Braintree.

Now, celebrating its five-year anniversary, Ellis Realty Advisors is comprised of a team of seven multi-disciplined commercial real estate professionals providing a wide range of specialized commercial real estate services for tenants, owners, investors, and developers, as well as nine supporting staff members.

Starting out with just a handful of listings, today the firm has over 85 commercial real estate listings for lease or sale throughout Massachusetts. Recent projects include Fox Island Business Park in Hanover and The Vault at 88 Pleasant Street in Weymouth, while 71 Armstrong Road in Plymouth, 1899 Ocean Street in Marshfield and 72 Sharp Street in Hingham tops a sampling of large properties sold by the firm in the past several months. Properties under management by Ellis include The Landmark Building in Plymouth, Millbrook Station in Duxbury, 200 Cordwainer Drive and 101 Accord Park in Norwell.

Ellis Realty Advisors has grown significantly over the last five years.  The firm now has 16 employees and works out of a building it owns in Norwell, remaining focused on commercial real estate leasing, sales and development.  In addition, Ellis Realty Advisors has spun off several related enterprises, including the property management-focused Ellis Realty Management in 2020 and Archway Construction, with a focus on commercial build-outs, earlier this year.  Ellis Realty Management also formed a strategic partnership with the business brokerage The Business Exchange (TBX) in 2019.

As part of its vision from the very start, Ellis Realty Advisors places a high priority on adding value and giving back to the communities it serves. The firm holds membership in South Shore Health’s Presidents’ Circle, the South Shore Economic Development Corporation, and the Quincy and South Shore Chambers of Commerce, and supports many other local charitable organizations including Wellspring, The Arc of the South Shore, Friendship Home, Cardinal Cushing Centers, and the South Shore YMCA.  Ellis is also specifically involved with the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR), National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP), Greater Boston Real Estate Board, Commercial Brokers Association, and Real Estate Finance Association.

Of equal importance is staying up to date on and implementing the newest technology and industry methodologies to improve the commercial real estate industry on the South Shore.

“Our dedicated team of commercial real estate experts have a deep understanding of the South Shore market and what helps a business thrive here, in large part because we all live on the South Shore,” said Ellis, a longtime Marshfield, Massachusetts, resident. “We understand the unique challenges commercial property owners face and how to overcome those hurdles.”

Looking to the future, Ellis sees the firm enjoying continued growth as it increases its number of partnerships with regional businesses.

“Our first five years – three of which coincided with the pandemic – has shown us that the commercial real estate industry should serve the community first and foremost,” said Ellis. “We are not only dedicated to the growth of our firm, but also to the growth and prosperity of the South Shore.”
