BOSTON–Boston-based construction management firm Corderman & Company has been awarded the buildout of a new 47,466-square-foot office space for law firm McCarter & English as the firm relocates its Boston office from 265 Franklin Street to One International Place.
The move marks a significant investment by McCarter & English in its employees, clients, and long-term growth strategy, while reinforcing the firm’s footprint among its 11 offices along the East Coast.
Corderman & Company officials said the project builds on a decades-long relationship between the two firms. Barrie Ferraro, principal and director of business development at Corderman & Company, said the company is proud to continue its partnership with McCarter & English after previously completing the firm’s Boston and Hartford offices over the past 20 years.
“This new space represents more than just another project; it’s a reflection of shared trust, evolving vision, and a deep understanding of how their firm works and grows,” Ferraro said in a statement. “We’re excited to help shape an environment where their people and clients can thrive.”
The project team will include Senior Project Manager Jim Tully, Superintendent Kyle White, Assistant Project Manager Riley Baldwin, Director of Estimating Cadman Corbett, Estimator Alejandra Richardi, and Director of Field Operations Dave MacNeil, along with Corderman’s trucking, carpentry, and labor divisions.
The firm said its extensive experience in Boston’s legal sector and familiarity with International Place will help streamline the project from pre-construction through completion. Over the past two decades, Corderman has completed projects for several prominent law firms, including Gunderson Dettmer, DLA Piper, Nelson Mullins, and Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe.
Corderman has also managed projects within International Place for clients including Eaton Vance, Walter & Shuffain, Spectrum Equity, and Northern Trust.
Company officials noted that established relationships with more than 300 trade partners and ongoing coordination with Boston’s Inspectional Services Division will support the project team in navigating the logistical and regulatory complexities associated with large-scale office construction in downtown Boston.
The buildout will be completed in collaboration with project partners Newmark, Chiofaro Company, Bala Engineering, and Visnick & Caulfield.
Corderman & Company said the project reflects its continued commitment to delivering high-profile legal and corporate workplace environments throughout the Boston market.
