BOSTON— Boston-based commercial real estate firm Hunneman is off to a strong start in 2025, completing 50 transactions across leasing and sales, totaling over half a million square feet and generating approximately $42 million in sales volume.

In addition to this transactional activity, the firm’s property management portfolio has expanded by 2.4 million square feet, now encompassing more than 14 million square feet across Massachusetts.

Despite ongoing challenges in the commercial real estate sector, Hunneman has maintained steady momentum by leveraging its market knowledge and deep client relationships.

“We are extremely grateful to all our clients – those who trust us to lease, acquire, dispose, and manage their properties across New England and throughout the country,” said Steve Prozinski, CEO and COO of Hunneman. “The commercial real estate market locally, and across the U.S., continues to exhibit constrained fundamentals. Now, more than ever, having a trusted advisor with 100 years of experience in these markets is paramount for success, and the work we do on our client’s behalf means more to us.”

Transaction Highlights
As tenant representatives, Hunneman’s brokers completed several major deals, including:

  • An 80,000-square-foot renewal and expansion for a long-standing client
  • A 70,000-square-foot industrial lease with All Access Equipment
  • A 100,000-square-foot office lease in Canton.

On the landlord side, Hunneman also secured significant leases, including a 30,000-square-foot agreement in Chelsea with North Suffolk Community Services.

In the office sector, Hunneman-represented properties have continued to perform well. The North team achieved 96% occupancy at the New England Business Center, while the South team reached 100% occupancy at 720 University Avenue in Norwood, helping position client Hilco Real Estate as a standout office owner in a challenging market.

Sales Activity and Investment Success
Hunneman’s investment sales team also reported a strong first quarter:

Closed on a 143-unit multifamily property in Gardner for nearly $18 million, marking a top-tier result for the client

Completed the disposition of a retail asset in Shrewsbury

Sold an 80,000-square-foot office portfolio in Lynn for $8.5 million

These diverse deals underscore the firm’s range and ability to execute complex transactions across asset classes.

Property Management Milestone
Hunneman’s property management division continues its upward trajectory, growing to manage more than 14 million square feet of real estate, up from 11.6 million in 2022. This includes the addition of a major 18-building industrial portfolio, bolstering the firm’s presence as a leading property manager in Greater Boston.

As the firm celebrates over a century of service in commercial real estate, its recent performance signals continued growth and client confidence heading into the rest of the year.
