BOSTON – TRIA, a partner-led architecture firm with a focus on designing unique spaces for science, technology, and corporate clients, announced that Natasha Pirman, Ph.D. has joined the firm as a lab programmer and planner.
With experience as an application scientist specializing in biochemical and biophysical characterization of proteins, Natasha brings a unique perspective to TRIA’s lab planning, programming, and design team.
“We are beyond excited to welcome Natasha to TRIA’s experienced lab design team, increasing our in-depth knowledge base,” said Jeannie Thacker, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP BD+C, co-founder and principal of TRIA. “She brings analytical thinking and understanding that has already enhanced our highly-effective programming and planning process. Her research accomplishments and ability to deeply connect with end users will significantly contribute to the project team’s ability to plan functional laboratory spaces for clients in the sciences.”
Natasha joins core team members in providing TRIA’s clients with invaluable insight into the creation of scientist-designed labs and research spaces that support end-users’ optimal workflow in the lab. She will work closely with the interior design team to integrate lab and office design and create functional spaces that represent clients’ workplace culture.

Most recently, Natasha worked at MilliporeSigma as a senior lead application scientist for the company’s protein and nucleic acid purification portfolio, supporting products relating to protein lysis reagents, purification resins, nucleic acid purification kits, and ultrafiltration devices. Skilled in the conception, design, and execution of research projects, Natasha is a highly organized individual with extensive background in data collection, analysis, and communication relating complex research, in addition to significant experience in building client relationships. In her role, she also performed competitive landscape analysis of new and existing commercial technologies and products, and facilitated technical and application aspects of the company’s new product development projects.
Natasha’s scientific background includes post-doctoral research associate roles at Yale University School of Medicine and Baylor College of Medicine Breast Center, and she is the author of several published papers on her research in biochemistry and molecular biology. Natasha received a Doctorate of Philosophy in Biochemistry from the University of Florida and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, with Honors, from Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee.
