BOSTON — WinnCompanies has appointed real estate development executive Abby Goldenfarb as senior vice president of WinnDevelopment, strengthening its leadership team as the company continues to expand its housing development efforts across New England.
Goldenfarb joins WinnDevelopment after spending more than 20 years at Boston-based Trinity Financial, where she led a range of new construction and adaptive reuse projects throughout the region.
“Abby will immediately become a key leader for the team serving New England, our most active development market,” said Adam Stein, president of WinnDevelopment. “Her track record, reputation and range of expertise align perfectly with the opportunities we have in front of us. We’re excited to have her on board.”
During her career, Goldenfarb has overseen several major neighborhood revitalization projects, including the development of Avenir and One Canal Street in Boston’s Bulfinch Triangle. She also led the adaptive reuse of Appleton Mills and 110 Canal Street in Lowell’s Hamilton Canal Innovation District, along with affordable homeownership initiatives and multiple transit-oriented, mixed-use, and multi-phase developments.
Overall, the teams she managed were responsible for more than $1.4 billion in development projects, including the creation of more than 2,300 apartment homes and approximately 100,000 square feet of commercial space.
“I look forward to working as part of the Winn team to create new opportunities for developing high quality housing in New England,” Goldenfarb said. “I am excited to embark on this new phase in my development career.”
Goldenfarb earned a Master of Business Administration from Boston University’s Questrom School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in history from Wellesley College. She also serves on the Massachusetts Board of Directors of NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association.
