BOSTON— As a federal government shutdown leaves many workers without pay, Helge Capital announced it is providing support to tenants employed by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), aiming to prevent housing disruptions during the ongoing lapse in funding.

The Boston-based multifamily owner and operator said TSA employees living in its properties will be granted financial flexibility until regular pay resumes. The move comes as thousands of federal workers continue reporting to duty without compensation, including TSA agents responsible for maintaining airport security nationwide.

Oleg Uritsky, Founder and CEO of Helge Capital, said the initiative was inspired by a recent personal interaction during travel.

“After seeing TSA employees reporting to work without pay, I felt it was important to act,” Uritsky said. “I told one TSA employee who checked me in, ‘Thank you for being here.’ These workers continue to show up every day to keep the country moving—and we will stand behind them. Any TSA employee in our properties will receive flexibility until pay resumes.”

Helge Capital owns and operates multifamily housing across the Greater Boston area, including communities located near Logan International Airport, where many TSA employees are based.

The company described the policy as part of its broader commitment to tenant stability, particularly during periods of economic uncertainty. While details of the flexibility were not specified, such measures often include deferred rent payments or adjusted payment schedules.

The federal shutdown has placed financial strain on many government workers, prompting a range of responses from employers, financial institutions, and housing providers. Helge Capital’s announcement reflects a growing effort within the private sector to support essential personnel continuing to work without pay.
