Senior Living Residences CEO Robert Larkin to Speak at 8th Annual Senior Housing Summit

NEWTON, MA– Senior Living Residences founder and CEO Robert Larkin, who started developing one of the first assisted living communities in Massachusetts, will speak at the 8th Annual Senior Living Summit on March 28 at Newton Marriott Hotel in Newton, MA.

The summit is organized by the Boston Real Estate Times, area’s premier source of commercial real estate news and information.

Currently, there are more than 240 assisted living residences in Massachusetts, providing over 15,000 apartment units and serving over 16,000 residents, according to Massachusetts Assisted Living Association, known as Mass-ALA.

Mr. Larkin started Senior Living Residences (SLR) in 1990, developing one of the first assisted living communities in Massachusetts and building a management company. Over the past 25 years, SLR has brought numerous senior developments online to maximum operational and financial success. Mr. Larkin and his partners now own and manage over a dozen communities in New England.

Mr. Larkin is a leading authority on the development and operation of independent senior housing, assisted living, and Alzheimer’s care communities with specific expertise in tax-credit and tax-exempt financed projects. He has served in numerous leadership roles for the Massachusetts Assisted Living Association (Mass-ALA), of which he is a founding member, representing and advocating for the assisted living industry before various regulatory and legislative forums.

Mr. Larkin oversees SLR’s business development, regulatory compliance, service performance and quality initiatives. Prior to entering the assisted living industry, Mr. Larkin worked in the real estate development and syndication field. He also served in state government as director of the Massachusetts Securities Division, as Massachusetts Deputy Secretary of State, and as an elected representative in the Massachusetts Legislature.

Mr. Larkin received his BA from Boston College and law degree from Suffolk University.
