Historic Webster Farm in Franklin Transformed Into Residential and Service Hub for Veterans and First Responders
MANCHESTER, N.H. — PROCON and Easterseals New Hampshire have received a 2026 Preservation Achievement Award from the New Hampshire Preservation Alliance for the rehabilitation and redevelopment of the Easterseals Military and Veterans Campus at Daniel Webster Farm.
The award was presented during the Alliance’s annual awards celebration held at the Concord City Auditorium, recognizing the project’s successful restoration, adaptive reuse, and compatible new construction on the historic property.
Once listed among America’s Most Endangered Historic Places by the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the Webster Farm campus has been transformed into a modern residential and service-centered community supporting veterans, active-duty military personnel, and first responders.
The redevelopment restored several historic structures on the property while incorporating modern accessibility features, sustainable design elements, and solar energy infrastructure. Project leaders said the effort carefully balanced preservation of the site’s historic character with the needs of a contemporary service campus.
For more than four decades, the New Hampshire Preservation Alliance has worked with communities throughout the state to preserve historic landmarks and promote the economic and cultural benefits of historic preservation. Its annual awards program honors outstanding achievements in restoration, adaptive reuse, stewardship, and community planning.
“These awards represent very exciting growth in the preservation movement,” said Jennifer Goodman. “There are such tremendous leaders and projects to be recognized, and the investment, creativity, and partnerships embodied in the winners is what we need to take on today’s challenges.”
Maureen Beauregard said the organization was honored to help preserve and repurpose the historic property for the benefit of the military and first responder community.
“I am deeply grateful for the trust placed in us to steward this historic property,” Beauregard said. “We’re proud of what has been restored, and we’re even more inspired by what this space will continue to offer the military, veterans, and first responder community.”
John Stebbins said the project reflects the firm’s commitment to meaningful community-centered development.
“Easterseals NH Military and Veterans Campus is exactly the kind of project that defines why we do this work,” Stebbins said. “Partnering with Easterseals NH to give these historic buildings new life — and a new purpose serving the men and women who have served us — has been an honor for our entire team.”
The redevelopment of the Webster Farm campus is being recognized as a model for how historic preservation and modern community needs can successfully come together to create long-term social impact.
