Construction milestone advances 55,000-square-foot project to expand patient care and modernize the downtown Lynn healthcare campus.
LYNN, Mass.— Lynn Community Health Center and BOND Building Construction celebrated the topping off of the Hayes Building expansion Friday, marking a major construction milestone for the Lynn Health and Wellness Campus at 269 Union St.
The project will add 55,000 square feet to the health center and upgrade facilities for patients, staff and visitors across its downtown Lynn campus. Construction began in April 2026 and is scheduled for completion in November 2027.
The expansion includes a new fourth floor for the health center’s OB/GYN and Pediatrics departments, renovations to the main lobby, an additional elevator, ADA accessibility improvements throughout the building, a rooftop terrace, and sidewalk and streetscape enhancements.
The redesigned Hayes Building is intended to increase patient capacity, accommodate additional providers and staff, support collaborative care and incorporate new technology to improve operations and patient services.

Lynn Community Health Center serves more than 46,000 patients annually, making it the second-largest community health center in Massachusetts. Officials said the expanded facility will help create a more coordinated patient experience by improving access to multiple healthcare services at a single location.

Project partners include isgenuity, the project architect, and CSL Consulting, which is serving as project manager. The expanded Hayes Building is expected to open in late 2027.
