CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — Boston’s fast-growing plant-based dining scene is set to gain another major addition as Lulu Green prepares to open its second location in Kendall Square on June 1, bringing its award-winning vegan cuisine and all-day café concept to one of Greater Boston’s busiest innovation hubs.

The new restaurant, located at 675 W Kendall Street, marks the first expansion for Lulu Green, the South Boston-based concept founded by Mary Lattouf and Executive Chef Brian Corbley. The Kendall Square location will feature a large covered patio overlooking a nearby park and is designed as a full-service café and dining destination offering breakfast, lunch, dinner, brunch, cocktails, coffee, smoothies, and baked goods.

The expansion follows a period of rapid growth and recognition for the restaurant, which was recently named “Best Vegan Restaurant” by Boston Magazine for the second consecutive year.

“We’re excited to introduce Lulu Green to Cambridge and the surrounding community,” said co-founder Mary Lattouf. “Lulu Green is an inclusive gathering space for anyone who loves great food. Our menu is designed for everyone — whether you’re plant-based or not.”

Lattouf said the restaurant’s philosophy centers on creating flavorful, approachable dishes that appeal to a broad audience rather than serving only traditional vegan diners.

“We focus on bold flavors, elevated ingredients, and dishes that feel indulgent, satisfying, and anything but expected,” she said.

The Kendall Square location reflects the broader evolution of plant-based dining in Boston, where vegan restaurants increasingly are positioning themselves as mainstream culinary destinations rather than niche concepts. Lulu Green’s menu combines comfort food influences, globally inspired dishes, specialty coffee beverages, and an extensive beverage program intended to attract both daytime café traffic and evening dining crowds.

The new café will serve lunch and dinner daily, along with weekend brunch. Signature menu items from the South Boston location will carry over to Cambridge, including the Hot Honey Glazed Crispy Chick’n Sandwich, Tacos al Pastor, Warm Quinoa Bowl, Roasted Broccoli and Sweet Potato Caesar Salad, and the restaurant’s OG Açaí Bowl.

The Kendall Square outpost will also debut several menu exclusives, including a Double Smash Burger, Grilled Steak Frites with house-made fries and zhoug sauce, a Pulled Mushroom Quesadilla with guajillo chili salsa, and Crispy Fried Brussels Sprouts.

Weekend brunch is expected to play a central role in the new location’s identity. The brunch menu will feature dishes such as the Brunch Sandwich 2.0, Lulu Pancakes, Meatball Shakshuka, omelets, tacos, and rotating seasonal bakery specials.

The restaurant has also expanded its cocktail and mocktail offerings for the Cambridge opening. Among the featured drinks is the “Social Anxiety,” Lulu Green’s espresso martini variation made with Rhodium Black Walnut Vodka, Barismo espresso, maple syrup, and oat milk.

The broader beverage program includes cocktails like “The Adults are Talking,” made with Bully Boy whiskey, bitters, and sugar, and the “Sicilian Spritz,” which combines limoncello, lavender liqueur, lemon, and prosecco.

Nonalcoholic offerings will include drinks such as the “Wandering Eye,” made with Almave agave blanco, citrus, and simple syrup, and “Strawberry Fields,” featuring strawberry purée, apple, lime, and ginger beer.

Coffee remains another major focus for the brand. Lulu Green partners with Cambridge-based Barismo Coffee Roasters and organic tea company Rishi Tea for its café program. Specialty drinks include the Spiced Sesame Latte, Pistachio Rose Latte, Matcha Rose Latte, and Fresh Mint Cold Brew.

Exclusive to the Kendall Square location is the new “Vanilla Wave,” an iced cloud latte made with coconut water, espresso, and vanilla cold foam.

The café’s smoothie lineup has also expanded with functional wellness-inspired beverages, including “The Glow Up,” made with strawberries, sea moss gel, rose water, and reishi mushroom, and “Mango Sunrise,” a blend of mango, pineapple, coconut, turmeric, and lion’s mane mushroom.

Lattouf said the goal is to create an experience that feels energetic, welcoming, and accessible throughout the day.

“We’ve built Lulu Green around the idea that plant-based dining should feel vibrant, approachable, fun, delicious, and keep people coming back for more,” she said.

The Kendall Square opening comes as the neighborhood continues to evolve into one of Greater Boston’s most active mixed-use districts, blending technology offices, residential development, restaurants, and public gathering spaces. The addition of Lulu Green adds to a growing roster of hospitality operators seeking to capitalize on the area’s dense daytime workforce and expanding residential population.

Lulu Green Kendall Square officially opens Monday, June 1, 2026.
