BOSTON — Syska Hennessy Group, the international engineering firm, has appointed three senior-level engineers in its Boston office: Michael Trickett, PE; Jeffrey Zajac, PE, LEED AP; and Michael Friedman, PE.
Michael Trickett, associate partner, has 40 years of experience in the design of electrical systems for a variety of project types, including healthcare, laboratory, higher education, commercial, and aviation. His project portfolio includes a new ER department and CRU space at Lahey Hospital in Burlington, MA; a new building at Northeastern University in Boston; the Ohio headquarters of Progressive Insurance; terminal E renovations at Boston’s Logan Airport; and the Hyatt Regency in Cambridge, MA.
Previously, Trickett served as a senior electrical engineer at Arora Engineers in Boston and, most notably, was the director of electrical engineering at R.W. Sullivan Engineering. He is a licensed engineer in MA, NH, ME, CT, MD, VA, and WA. He earned an associate’s degree in electrical engineering from Northeastern University and an associate’s degree in applied science from Chamberlayne Jr. College in Boston.
Jeffery Zajac, senior associate, has more than 25 years of experience in the design and oversight of mechanical building systems across the corporate, medical, commercial, and industrial sectors. Highlights of his experience include work for Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard University, Babson College, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, Hynes Convention Center in Boston, Logan Airport, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Zajac has held positions at WSP USA, AKF Group, and Consentini Associates as a senior-level mechanical engineer and project manager.
Michael Friedman, associate, has more than six years of experience in the design of fire protection systems, as an engineer and as a contractor/ installer. His past projects include a new dorm building at Cushing Academy in Ashburnham, MA; a multi-story self-storage facility in Hingham, MA; Tufts University Bacon Hall in Medford, MA; MelroseWakefield Hospital in Melrose, MA; and Atrius Health Plymouth in Plymouth, RI.
Before joining Syska, Friedman worked as a fire protection engineer at Impact Fire Services out of Southborough, MA. Previously, he worked as a fire protection engineer for Battelle Energy Alliance at the Idaho National Labs in Idaho Falls, ID; and at AHA Consulting Engineers in Lexington, MA. He earned a Master of Science degree in fire protection engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, MA, and a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.
