SALEM, Mass. — Salem Five Bancorp has appointed J. Scott Rickards, a veteran commercial real estate leader, to its Board of Trustees, the company announced Wednesday.
Rickards brings more than 30 years of experience in commercial real estate and property management, having played a key role in overseeing some of Boston’s most prominent office assets. His appointment is expected to strengthen the bank’s strategic insight as it continues to expand its commercial presence across the region.
Currently serving as Vice President of Property Management at Lincoln Property Company, Rickards manages a multi-million-square-foot portfolio across downtown Boston and Cambridge. He is also an active leader in the industry, having served as both a member and past president of BOMA Boston.
“Scott has spent over three decades helping shape the commercial fabric of our region, and we are fortunate to bring that depth of experience to our Board,” said Ping Yin Chai, President and CEO of Salem Five Bancorp. “His understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing Boston’s business owners will help ensure Salem Five remains a premier choice for relationship-driven commercial banking.”
Before joining Lincoln Property Company, Rickards held leadership roles at Beacon Management Company and Equity Office Properties, where he oversaw high-profile assets including Rowes Wharf, One Post Office Square, 60 State Street, and 225 Franklin Street.
Rickards earned his bachelor’s degree from Colby College. His extensive experience in asset management and deep knowledge of the Greater Boston real estate market are expected to provide valuable perspective as Salem Five continues to grow its commercial banking operations.
