Boston— The Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy has announced the appointment of two new members to its Board of Directors, welcoming Sherry Dong and Christina Fisher as part of its summer 2026 expansion.

The Conservancy, the nonprofit organization responsible for managing and programming Rose Kennedy Greenway, said the additions come at a pivotal time as it continues to advance long-term sustainability and community-focused initiatives for the popular public park.

The 21-member board is composed of individuals nominated by a range of stakeholders, including community groups, elected officials, government agencies, the Greenway Business Improvement District, and the Conservancy itself. Sherry Dong was nominated by the Chinatown Neighborhood Council, while Christina Fisher was selected for an at-large seat by the Conservancy.

“We are proud to welcome Sherry and Christina to the Board of Directors at a pivotal moment for The Greenway,” said Hilina D. Ajakaiye, chair of the Conservancy’s board. “Each brings not only deep expertise but a demonstrated commitment to community, equity, and public space as a driver of connection and belonging.”

Dong brings more than 25 years of experience in community advocacy, public health, and government service. She currently serves at Tufts Medical Center, where she oversees community benefits reporting and leads initiatives aimed at strengthening partnerships and improving physical, social, and emotional health outcomes. Her earlier career includes roles in the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office Civil Rights Division, the Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood Services, and the Boston Planning & Development Agency, among others.

A longtime advocate for immigrant and BIPOC communities, Dong has also been actively involved in civic engagement through various boards and commissions. She holds degrees from Tufts University and Northeastern University.

Fisher brings a background in public policy and government relations, currently serving in a leadership role at Amazon, where she oversees state and local government relations across Massachusetts, Maine, and Rhode Island. Prior to joining Amazon in 2020, she worked at TechNet, focusing on innovation policy in the Northeast.

Earlier in her career, Fisher served in the Massachusetts Legislature, including as counsel to former State Senator Ben Downing, where she worked on telecommunications, energy, and utility policy. She holds a law degree from Suffolk University Law School and a bachelor’s degree from American University.

“As we look to the future of The Greenway, strong and engaged board leadership is essential,” said Conan Harris, chair of the Conservancy’s nominating committee. “Sherry and Christina bring not only impressive professional expertise, but also a genuine commitment to public space as a platform for community, creativity, and belonging.”

Stretching through downtown Boston, the Rose Kennedy Greenway is one of the most visited public spaces in Massachusetts, attracting millions of visitors each year. Managed by the Conservancy, the park serves as a hub for community events, public art, and open space, supported largely through private donations.
