BOSTON — Harvard University and Tishman Speyer will officially celebrate the opening of the Enterprise Research Campus (ERC) on June 23, marking a major milestone in the transformation of a long-vacant section of Boston’s Allston neighborhood into a new hub for innovation, research, housing, and community activity.

University leaders, executives from Tishman Speyer, local elected officials, and community members are expected to attend the opening ceremony at the nine-acre mixed-use development located at 100 Western Ave.

The project represents one of the most significant recent developments in Allston and is designed to bring together research, entrepreneurship, housing, hospitality, retail, and public gathering spaces within a single district. Developed through a partnership between Harvard and Tishman Speyer, the Enterprise Research Campus is intended to serve as a gateway between Harvard’s expanding innovation ecosystem and the surrounding community.

The newly completed development includes laboratory and research space, residential apartments, a conference center, a hotel, shops and restaurants, public art installations, and more than two acres of publicly accessible open space. At the center of the district is Allstonway, a new pedestrian-oriented corridor designed to connect the campus with the broader neighborhood.

The opening ceremony will highlight years of planning, community engagement, and collaboration among Harvard University, Tishman Speyer, city officials, neighborhood stakeholders, and development partners. Supporters of the project say the ERC will strengthen Boston’s position as a global center for innovation while creating new opportunities for residents, businesses, researchers, and entrepreneurs.

The development is expected to attract companies and organizations working across life sciences, technology, research, and related sectors, further expanding the economic activity generated by Harvard’s growing presence in Allston.

The June 23 celebration will begin at 10 a.m. The Enterprise Research Campus is located at 100 Western Ave. in Boston’s Allston neighborhood.
