BOSTON— GoldMark Partners LLP, a boutique law firm based in Greater Boston specializing in commercial real estate and corporate law, announced that Matthew T. Clark, a nationally respected real estate and capital markets attorney, has joined the firm as a Partner.
Clark brings over two decades of experience navigating complex real estate finance and capital markets transactions. His expertise spans the full spectrum of the industry, including origination, servicing, acquisition, and disposition of commercial mortgage loans, mezzanine loans, high-yield debt, preferred equity, and note-on-note financings. He is also a recognized authority on distressed assets and creditors’ rights, having managed high-stakes workouts, foreclosures, UCC sales, and loan modifications.
“Matt is a trusted advisor with deep technical experience and industry knowledge in representing banks and other institutional lenders,” said Todd D. Goldberg, Founding Partner of GoldMark Partners LLP. “He strengthens our real estate finance and capital markets capabilities, and we are thrilled to welcome him to the firm.”
Clark’s legal work has touched nearly every major asset class and capital structure. He has led transactions involving structured debt, CMBS, credit facilities, securitizations, and subordinate debt, often navigating the legal intricacies of multimillion-dollar and multijurisdictional deals. With an eye for nuance and a reputation for creative structuring, Clark is often sought out for particularly complex matters in the commercial real estate finance space.
“GoldMark has quickly built a reputation for excellence, creativity, and strategic thinking in real estate and finance,” said Clark. “I wanted to join a firm that values innovative thinking and client service as much as technical expertise. I’m energized by the work GoldMark is doing and am excited to be part of the team.”
Before joining GoldMark, Clark served as Counsel at Sullivan & Worcester LLP and spent over 15 years as a Partner at Dechert LLP, where he was a key member of the firm’s Finance and Real Estate Group. Beyond his legal practice, Clark has made significant contributions to industry thought leadership. He co-founded CrunchedCredit.com, a widely followed blog focused on capital markets, and has published articles in Bloomberg Law, Real Estate Finance & Investment, and other leading publications. He is also a sought-after speaker and panelist in national real estate finance forums.
A resident of Holliston, Massachusetts, Clark has been active in community service, including his time on the Town of Holliston Conservation Commission, and remains engaged in the work of the Commercial Real Estate Finance Council (CREFC).
