HINGHAM, MA — The Launch at Hingham Shipyard is heating up this year with the arrival of exciting new businesses and the return of its popular summer concert series, offering even more reasons for locals and visitors to spend time at this vibrant waterfront destination.
Cohasset favorite Salty Days Fish Co. is making a triumphant return to Hingham, launching a full-service restaurant just steps from the water in the space formerly occupied by Boathouse Bistro. Known for its elevated seafood and sushi served in a relaxed atmosphere, Salty Days is expanding its offerings to include a full bar, outdoor patio dining, and a streamlined takeout service tailored for busy customers.
“We’re delighted that after a long search to find a way to return to Hingham, Salty Days will officially be landing in the Shipyard this summer,” said co-owner Sean McDaniel. The new restaurant is slated for a grand opening in fall 2025, and promises to blend local flavor with fresh energy in one of the South Shore’s most scenic spots.
In addition to Salty Days, J.Crew Factory will open a new store at The Launch just in time for the back-to-school season. Offering classic and colorful styles for men, women, and children, the new location will feature in-store-only promotions and a rotating selection of new arrivals. “We couldn’t be more thrilled to be a part of the Hingham community,” said Jody Gietl, head of J.Crew Factory.
Joining the retail and dining scene is Kids Empire, a nearly 10,000-square-foot indoor play center, marking the brand’s first Massachusetts location. Designed for active family fun, the facility will include climbing structures, slides, a dance floor, and turf areas, catering to birthday parties, field trips, and everyday drop-in play.
The summer season at Hingham Shipyard also brings the much-anticipated return of its free summer concert series, now in its 15th year. Starting June 27 and running through August 29, the Friday night concerts at 7 p.m. feature a variety of musical acts including a local high school band, Brimstone Corner, making their debut. The concerts take place at the amphitheater behind 18 Shipyard Drive, providing a perfect soundtrack to an evening by the sea.
“With new additions and the return of beloved summer traditions, The Launch at Hingham Shipyard is an unmatched destination for dining, shopping, and entertainment,” said Rachael Diharce, Vice President of Retail Leasing for Samuels & Associates.
From fresh seafood and fashion to family adventures and live music, Hingham Shipyard continues to evolve as a year-round hub of community life on the South Shore.
