Canton, MA – Camber Development, a Boston-based real estate investor and operator, and Wheelock Street Capital announced 100% occupancy at their 94,000 sq. ft. life sciences and advanced manufacturing property at 85 John Road in Canton, MA.
88 Acres, a national food brand producing seed-based products, will join Underwriters Laboratories and Organogenesis as tenants at the property. CBRE’s Doug Rodenstein, Chelsea Andre, Rachel Marks and Chris Mullen represented both the landlord and tenant in this successful transaction.88 Acres was co-founded by Nicole Ledoux and Rob Dalton, and the company offers allergen-friendly protein bars, seed and oat bars, seed butters, and seed-nola. 88 Acres has been growing rapidly over the last several years, and their products are available at Whole Foods, Sprouts, Stop & Shop, Market Basket, and more than 4,200 grocery stores across the US. 85 John Road will serve as the company’s new production facility and will allow for significant growth coming out of their 7,000 sq. ft. facility in Dorchester. Dacon Corporation, a Natick-based general contractor, was selected to oversee the project given their expertise in both industrial and specialized food production facilities. 88 Acres will take occupancy in March 2023. “Given how incredibly innovative and forward-thinking the 88 Acres team is, it was important for them to partner with a landlord who shares those same qualities and unwavering support for their tenants,” said Mr. Rodenstein, Vice President, CBRE. “Camber Development was a perfect fit in that regard. This expansion is a major milestone for 88 Acres and will allow them to continue to deliver quality products to their customers and accommodate their fast-paced growth. We couldn’t be happier about being a part of it.” Katie Speede, the Chief Operating Officer of Camber Development, led the 88 Acres project build out and commented, “Despite the recent headwinds in the financial markets, we hold an even deeper belief in the strength and resiliency of our tenants and the health of Greater Boston’s manufacturing, life science, and technology industries. We are thrilled to be able to partner with 88 Acres, a dynamic, locally owned brand, to provide the space and support to facilitate their future growth.” “Moving to 85 John is an exciting milestone for 88 Acres and will enable the business to continue to scale and meet the demand of a broader market of consumers who are interested in allergen-free healthy and delicious foods,” says 88 Acres’ CEO Nicole Ledoux. “It has been a pleasure working with Camber and Dacon to design and build a facility to meet our needs for the next 10 years and beyond.” Camber Development invests in life sciences, manufacturing, and logistics properties, and strives to capitalize on the convergence of these industries by creating best in class space that enables its customer to succeed and future innovations to be born.
