New York, NY–In support of advancing the strategic growth of its Client Solutions practice, Stantec has hired real estate professional, Brett Sherman, to the team. Sherman has joined as a Principal based in Stantec’s New York City office.

In this role, Sherman will focus on expanding the group’s footprint in existing markets — splitting his time between New York and Boston — and developing into new geographies and market sectors. Sherman will provide valuable market insights, as well as collaboration with other Stantec services and sectors, to help clients maximize the value of their real estate portfolios.

“Brett is an energetic and networked real estate consulting professional with ideal experience in a variety of high-value market sectors that Stantec has identified for continued growth,” said Patrick Lytle, Senior Principal and Client Solutions Business Leader at Stantec. “His experience and in-depth market knowledge will successfully advance our team’s goals in delivering exceptional client service.”

Sherman joins Stantec with more than a decade of experience in real estate planning, investment, portfolio management, pre-development coordination, land acquisitions, due diligence, and energy and infrastructure consulting. He has worked on behalf of some of the industry’s leading property owners and developers, advising on development opportunities and forward-looking portfolio activities. Recent initiatives he has managed include coordinating energy, infrastructure, and smart city initiatives for a property portfolio, as well as originating and leading the due diligence and community/government relations for the redevelopment of an infill transit-oriented site.

Sherman has earned a Master of Business Administration from Fordham University, with a bachelor’s degree from Skidmore College.

Stantec’s Client Solutions practice offers a broad range of management consulting services to guide clients through business challenges such as aging infrastructure, organizational constraints, and stakeholder expectations. The team specializes in strategy and planning, operational readiness and capital planning, and real estate strategies.
