HINGHAM, MA–Karen Fish-Will, Principal and CEO of full-service real estate and property management firm Peabody Properties, has been honored with the 2018 Rental Housing Association (RHA) President’s Award for Industry Excellence.

Fish-Will received the honor at the 27th annual RHA President’s Award Reception, held at the InterContinental Boston on November 28, 2018.

In addition, Speaker of Massachusetts’ House of Representatives Robert A. DeLeo was also honored by the organization with the 2018 Rental Housing Association President’s Award for Excellence in Public Service.

The RHA President’s Award for Industry Excellence and Excellence in Public Service are the organization’s most prestigious awards.  Fish-Will joins a list of distinguished past recipients, including her father, Edward A. Fish, who received the award in 2001.

Fish-Will, a resident of Hingham, Mass., was lauded for her community and civic involvement and professionalism in all aspects of multifamily development, ownership, and management of the company founded by her father.  Over the last two years, Peabody Properties has added more than 2,400 apartment and condominium homes to their property management portfolio, most located in the greater Boston area, and many of which are affordable, bringing the firm’s overall total to more than 13,000 today.

Fish-Will’s career in the multi-disciplines of real estate spans more than 35 years.  Her many credentials include: a designated REALTOR® member of the Greater Boston Association of REALTORS®; member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the Greater Boston Real Estate Board; member of the Greater Boston Real Estate Board Government Affairs Committee; and member of the MassHousing Community Services Advisory Committee and Board for New Lease for Homeless Families.  Over the last year, she and her sister, Peabody Properties COO Melissa Fish-Crane, were named Glassdoor 2018 SMB Top CEOs, Outstanding Women in Family Business by the Warren Group, Women of FIRE by Banker & Tradesman, and 2017 Professional Women of the Year by the Boston IREM® Chapter #4.

In addition, Peabody Properties was named a Top Place to Work by the Boston Globe for 2017 and 2018 and a Glassdoor Best Place to Work in 2018.  Peabody Properties has also been ranked for the past four years on the National Affordable Housing Management Association’s Affordable 100 List.

The Rental Housing Association is a member of the Greater Boston Real Estate Board (GBREB) and was established in 1953 as the industry voice for multifamily owners and managers, as well as rental agents, realtors, brokers, vendors, and suppliers across Massachusetts.  The organization also celebrated its 65th anniversary during the event.

“I am so grateful for the support of the Rental Housing Association, those generations of individuals who have brought their vision and ambition into the Association’s growth and development, and for the endorsement this award represents,” said Fish-Will.  “And although I have been named as the recipient, it actually belongs to the much larger community of supportive, creative, and intensely passionate people; especially my sister, my business partner and best friend, Melissa Fish-Crane – we share this success together.”
