Construction firm’s team marks its 19th consecutive year participating in the annual cycling fundraiser for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
BOSTON — Shawmut Design and Construction participated in the 2026 Pan-Mass Challenge for the 19th consecutive year, bringing the company’s lifetime fundraising total for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute to more than $2.3 million.
Team Shawmut, made up of CEO Les Hiscoe, employee-owners, family members and friends, joined approximately 6,500 riders in the annual two-day cycling event held Aug. 1-2. Participants completed routes ranging from 25 to 177 miles across Massachusetts to raise money for cancer research and patient care. Virtual participants also took part from locations around the country.
In addition to fielding a team of riders, Shawmut sponsored the official 2026 Pan-Mass Challenge socks, which featured the company’s logo and were distributed to all 6,500 participants.
“For nearly two decades, Team Shawmut has proudly supported the Pan-Mass Challenge. Seeing thousands of riders, volunteers, patients, survivors, and supporters come together is incredibly inspiring,” Hiscoe said in a statement. “I’m grateful for our employee-owners, families, friends, and partners whose commitment year after year has helped raise critical funds for lifesaving cancer research and patient care.”
The 2026 ride marked Hiscoe’s 15th Pan-Mass Challenge.
The Pan-Mass Challenge is an annual bike-a-thon that raises funds for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute to support cancer research and patient care.
