BOSTON– The Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy, the non-profit organization responsible for the management and care of The Greenway, announced the addition of three new members to its volunteer Board of Directors: Kathryn Friedman, Rory Harrington, and Susanne Lavoie.
“The Rose Kennedy Greenway is an incredibly important destination for our tourism sector in Boston,” said State Representative Aaron Michlewitz. “However, it is also a treasured neighborhood asset. I am proud that our neighbors will continue to have a voice in the stewardship of the park.”
The 21 members of the Greenway Conservancy’s Board of Directors are nominated by community groups, government agencies and officials, the Greenway Business Improvement District, and the Conservancy. Friedman was nominated by the Leather District Neighborhood Association, Harrington was nominated by the North End Waterfront Neighborhood Council, and Lavoie was nominated by the Wharf District Council.
Through their diverse perspectives, expertise, and shared passion for The Greenway, these committed volunteers work to support the Conservancy’s mission and sustainability.
“We are so pleased to add the experience and expertise of Kathryn, Rory, and Susanne to the board,” said Hilina D. Ajakaiye, Chair of the Greenway Conservancy Board and Executive Vice President at Meet Boston. “Their shared commitment to a vibrant and inclusive Greenway will greatly serve the work of the Conservancy.”
“The Greenway is a signature open space and destination for both the City of Boston and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts,” said Rebecca A.
