BOSTON — Ligris + Associates is expanding its real estate legal platform through the addition of Boston-based law firm Alavi + Braza, a move that strengthens the firm’s capabilities across commercial and residential real estate transactions, lender representation, and condominium development services throughout Massachusetts.
The integration brings 12 professionals from Alavi + Braza into Ligris, including attorneys Ali Alavi, Gina Braza, John McMahon, Joseph Uliano, and George Webber, along with seven members of the firm’s professional staff. The combined team is expected to broaden Ligris’ ability to manage complex real estate transactions and high-volume closing activity across the region.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Founded in 2002, Alavi + Braza has built a longstanding presence in the Boston real estate market, representing buyers, sellers, investors, developers, and lenders in both commercial and residential transactions. The firm has become particularly well known for its work in condominium development, lender-side representation, and large-scale transactional closings.
Ligris leaders said the addition aligns with the firm’s strategy of expanding through the integration of specialized legal teams with complementary practice areas.
“This merger combines two firms that share a commitment to precision, responsiveness, and exceptional client service,” said Christos Viores, co-managing partner at Ligris + Associates. “Alavi + Braza’s strong reputation and long-standing client relationships align perfectly with our mission. Together, we are better positioned than ever to serve our clients with expertise and efficiency.”
The combination comes amid continued activity across the Massachusetts real estate sector, where legal firms are increasingly seeking broader transactional capabilities as developers, lenders, and investors navigate a more complex market environment shaped by shifting interest rates, housing demand, and evolving commercial property trends.
With the addition of the Alavi + Braza team, Ligris will expand its services in several areas, including buyer and seller representation, commercial real estate transactions, condominium conversions, developer representation, and lender-focused legal services.
Gina Braza, managing partner of Alavi + Braza, said the move will allow the team to leverage additional operational and technological resources while maintaining its existing client relationships and transactional focus.
“We are excited to join Ligris and become part of a firm that is redefining how legal services are delivered,” Braza said. “Ligris’ platform, technology, and collaborative culture will allow us to enhance the service we provide to our clients while continuing the work we’ve built over many years.”
Ligris has continued to grow its footprint in Massachusetts through strategic additions aimed at strengthening specialized practice areas and expanding client services. The firm said the latest integration reflects its broader effort to build a more scalable, technology-enabled legal platform while maintaining a client-service-oriented approach.
Industry observers note that consolidation among boutique and midsize law firms has accelerated in recent years as firms seek to expand expertise, improve operational efficiency, and compete more effectively for institutional and developer clients in increasingly sophisticated real estate transactions.
By integrating Alavi + Braza’s real estate-focused practice into its broader platform, Ligris is positioning itself to handle a larger volume of complex transactions across both commercial and residential sectors as development and investment activity continues throughout Greater Boston and the broader Massachusetts market.
