BROOKLINE, Mass. — BRE Hotels & Resorts has completed a comprehensive renovation of the 188-room Courtyard by Marriott Boston Brookline, unveiling a fully transformed hotel designed to better serve business, medical, academic, and leisure travelers while strengthening the property’s long-term position in one of Greater Boston’s most resilient hospitality markets.
The multimillion-dollar renovation encompasses every aspect of the hotel, including guest rooms, public spaces, meeting facilities, fitness amenities, and dining areas. The project reflects BRE Hotels & Resorts’ ongoing strategy of investing in high-performing assets through targeted capital improvements that enhance both the guest experience and long-term property value.
Located in Brookline’s vibrant Coolidge Corner neighborhood, the hotel offers convenient access to downtown Boston, Boston University, Boston College, Harvard University, and the Longwood Medical Area, home to world-renowned healthcare institutions including Boston Children’s Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

Hotel General Manager Meaghan Murphy said the renovation was designed to create a more modern and welcoming experience while reflecting the character of Brookline and the surrounding Boston area.

The redesign was led by The Gettys Group, an internationally recognized hospitality design firm that incorporated locally inspired elements throughout the property. Interior finishes feature a palette of navy blue, cognac, golden yellow, and dark metal accents inspired by Boston’s waterfront and Brookline’s historic architecture. Curated artwork depicting abstract urban landscapes, transportation, and New England scenery reinforces the hotel’s connection to the surrounding community.
One of the most dramatic transformations is the hotel’s lobby, which replaces the traditional front desk with open-concept check-in stations designed to create a more personalized arrival experience. A custom sculptural lighting installation serves as the centerpiece of the redesigned space, while flexible seating areas accommodate guests working remotely, meeting with colleagues, or relaxing by the fireplace. Large windows overlooking the courtyard fill the lobby and adjacent dining areas with natural light.
Guest rooms have also been completely refreshed with contemporary furnishings, textured wall coverings, dark wood finishes, tufted headboards, and upgraded lighting. Each room includes dedicated workspaces, mini-refrigerators, and iHome technology, reflecting the needs of today’s business and leisure travelers.
The hotel’s meeting facilities include nearly 1,000 square feet of flexible event space suitable for corporate meetings, training sessions, banquets, and small gatherings. Two meeting rooms offer complimentary Wi-Fi, ergonomic workstations, business center access, and convenient dining through the hotel’s Bistro restaurant.
Health and wellness amenities were also enhanced as part of the renovation. The redesigned 24-hour fitness center now features dedicated areas for strength training, cardiovascular exercise, and stretching, along with upgraded storage, towel stations, and a water bottle refill station. Guests can also enjoy the hotel’s heated indoor swimming pool overlooking the landscaped courtyard.
To commemorate the completion of the renovation, Courtyard by Marriott Boston Brookline is introducing its American Legacy Package, a limited-time offering inspired by Brookline’s rich history and its connection to President John F. Kennedy. The package includes accommodations in the newly renovated guest rooms, two signature cocktails at The Bistro, classic American welcome snacks, and convenient access to the nearby John Fitzgerald Kennedy National Historic Site, where the nation’s 35th president was born.
The renovation positions the hotel to capitalize on Brookline’s strong demand from visitors to Greater Boston’s universities, hospitals, and business centers while offering guests an updated experience rooted in the neighborhood’s distinctive character.
