BOSTON —Commercial real estate advisory firm Avison Young has announced a key leadership transition aimed at expanding and strengthening its U.S. project and construction management platform.

Patrick Schmidt has been appointed Principal and Managing Director, U.S. – Studio, Project and Construction Management, where he will oversee the continued growth of the firm’s project management services across the country. In his new role, Schmidt will focus on enhancing collaboration between Avison Young’s project management and brokerage teams while expanding the firm’s capabilities and service offerings in additional markets.

“Patrick has consistently demonstrated a commitment to client success and operational excellence,” said Harry Klaff, Principal and U.S. President at Avison Young. “By investing in our project and construction management platform, we will be better positioned to deliver holistic and cohesive solutions that meet our clients’ evolving needs.”

Schmidt will lead U.S. growth initiatives through recruitment, business development and talent expansion, while further integrating project management into Avison Young’s broader real estate advisory platform.

Based in Boston, Schmidt brings more than three decades of industry experience to the role and has been with Avison Young since 2015. Most recently, he served as Principal and Managing Director, Eastern Regional Leader of Project & Construction Management Services, where he helped drive substantial growth by building a diverse team serving clients across multiple sectors.

“Avison Young has built a strong foundation in project and construction management and the next step is scaling the platform more cohesively across the U.S.,” said Schmidt. “Enhancing alignment across the firm will strengthen execution and create more value for clients throughout the lifecycle of their real estate decisions.”

Schmidt succeeds Stephen Silverstein, who previously served as Managing Director, U.S. – Studio, Project and Construction Management. Silverstein has transitioned into a new leadership role as Principal and Managing Director, Global Business Development & Enterprise Accounts, Project Management & Consulting.

In his new position, Silverstein will focus on expanding global client partnerships and driving enterprise-level growth strategies across key markets worldwide. Silverstein joined Avison Young in 2022 and played a significant role in strengthening the firm’s U.S. project and construction management capabilities.

The leadership changes come as Avison Young continues investing in its project and construction management services platform, reinforcing its leadership team and positioning the firm for continued growth both nationally and globally.
