BOSTONTRIA has announced a bold expansion into a range of new practice areas. Building on a decade of success in science and technology design, the firm is extending its reach into multifamily, interior design, urban design/master planning, commercial mixed-use, adaptive reuse/repositioning, workplace, retail, and hospitality sectors.

“This is a pivotal moment in TRIA’s journey,” said Sherwood Butler, President and CEO of TRIA. “Our foundation in science and tech, combined with our growing multidisciplinary experience, has naturally evolved into a bold, integrated practice model. We’re excited to push boundaries, foster innovation across sectors, and create spaces that inspire and transform communities.”

The expansion reflects TRIA’s continued growth and ambition to impact a broader spectrum of the built environment. Butler added, “This evolution enables us to apply insights from one market to another, strengthening outcomes for clients and advancing the quality of the built environment across all sectors we serve.”

TRIA’s expanded portfolio already includes high-profile projects such as office space repositionings in Portsmouth, NH and Cambridge, MA; a hotel conversion in downtown Boston; a luxury condominium development in the Caribbean; and several multifamily and urban planning projects in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
