“I’m so grateful for a career that has taken me on an incredible adventure of opening restaurants around the globe and has provided me with so many invaluable experiences and ideas,” said Michal Feighery, owner of Liberty & MAIN. “That journey has finally led me here, to Liberty & MAIN, where I’m able to bring that inspiration to life and achieve a lifelong dream of opening my own establishment alongside my amazing wife and daughters, all of whom play a role at the restaurant. With Liberty & MAIN, it’s great to be back on the floor, greeting and taking care of all of our guests and providing an incomparable experience for everyone who passes through our doors.”
“The opening of Liberty & MAIN brings such a wonderful element of culinary excitement and personality to Legacy Place. We are so thrilled Michael and his team have joined the property and have introduced a unique, loveable, and locally founded concept to Dedham and beyond,” said Monica Doyle, Marketing Manager of Legacy Place.
Drawing from Feighery’s extensive travels, and utilizing the freshest, locally sourced ingredients, Liberty & MAIN’s dishes represent familiar hallmarks of classic American bistro fare crafted and presented in an imaginative and thoughtful manner. Executive Chef Doug Brown oversees the menu which features appetizers such as Grilled Bacon & Peanut Butter with apples & jalapenos, Lobster Escargot with garlic, butter, and crostini and a fun and interactive Roll Your Own Tuna Tartare with sushi rice, ponzu sauce, and avocado mousse. The Buns & Baguettes section of the menu gives diners some great options to get their hands around including Sweet Chili Chicken, a fried Calabrian cutlet with Asian peanut slaw and served on a toasted baguette and Twisted Fish Tacos with blackened cod, mushy peas, vinegar slaw and chips. Main dishes feature some incredible selections from both land and sea such as a Statler Chicken Breast with white bean and tomato ragout, Pan Seared Cod with fondant potatoes, corn velouté, and tomato relish and a Signature Filet Mignon Béarnaise, center-cut tenderloin with tarragon butter. Desserts delight with a variety of sweet endings that will be sure to have guests dreaming for months. Selections include Liberty & MAIN’s housemade Cake Pops, offered in a rotating mix of seasonal flavors, and an Adult S’mores featuring generous portions of chocolate, graham crust and marshmallow fluff all layered in a jar.
Liberty & MAIN’s beverage program honors local producers including a partnership with the award-winning Castle Island Brewery in Norwood, MA which has introduced a signature Liberty Draft, a crisp and golden pilsner lager crafted especially for the restaurant. The restaurant’s wine list has been thoughtfully curated with accessibility, quality, and variety in mind. Offerings include both unique wines from small boutique winemakers and more familiar varietals from domestic estates. Cocktails remain true to the classics, yet feature some creative elements as well. Examples include the Mother Brook, named after the beloved nearby Dedham stream and featuring a blend of Tito’s handmade vodka, plume & petal peach, Giffard peach liqueur, lime juice and Luxardo cherry.
Rounding out the Liberty & MAIN experience is the restaurant’s interior design. The space is approachable with rich undertones and adorned with zinc finishes, light woods, antique lighting and hand cut tiles. The 170-seat restaurant features both indoor and outdoor patio seating, all beautifully designed by American Chair in nearby Quincy. The restaurant features a row of booths along the wall designed in deep blues and gold piping while the dining room tables are outfitted with chairs in a deep shade of yellow, reminiscent of a classic Supper Club. The bar completes the atmosphere featuring 20 richly appointed Hibernian blue Bailey bar stools with quilted studded backs. Other notable design elements include a solid brass eagle which sits as a center piece on the host stand welcoming and bidding guests safe journeys home, and an inspirational quote from culinary legend, Anthony Bourdain, which overlooks the dining room and reads, “You learn a lot about someone when you share a meal together.”
Liberty & MAIN is located at 500 Legacy Place, Dedham MA, next to Apple. Liberty & MAIN serves lunch and dinner seven days a week with brunch service beginning on October 24. For more information on the restaurant, visit www.libertyandmainbistro.com.
