MONTREAL — WSP Global Inc. has announced that Joe Sczurko, president of the company’s U.S. region, will retire at the end of 2026 after a 40-year career in engineering and professional services.
Sczurko joined WSP following the company’s acquisition of Wood’s Environment & Infrastructure business, where he served as chief executive officer. During his tenure at WSP, he helped oversee the continued expansion of the company’s U.S. operations across key sectors and regions.
WSP President and CEO Alexandre L’Heureux credited Sczurko with helping strengthen the company’s position in the U.S. market and highlighted his focus on employees, client relationships and business growth.
“Joe’s leadership has been instrumental in strengthening WSP’s position as one of the leading engineering, science and infrastructure solutions firms in the United States,” L’Heureux said in the announcement.
Sczurko said he was proud of the organization’s progress and expressed confidence in its future.
“It has been a privilege to lead this remarkable part of the organization and work alongside such talented professionals,” Sczurko said. “I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved together and am confident the business is well positioned for continued success.”

As part of the transition, WSP has appointed Katus Watson, the company’s U.S. chief operating officer, as interim president of the WSP U.S. region. Watson will assume the role effective Oct. 1, 2026.
Watson has 30 years of leadership experience in the engineering industry. In his current role as COO, he oversees operational performance and supports strategic priorities across WSP’s U.S. business.
According to WSP, Watson has experience in complex project delivery, operational performance and developing high-performing teams. As interim regional president, he will work with the company’s executive leadership team to advance its strategic priorities while maintaining its focus on client service, operational excellence and sustainable growth.
Sczurko will remain with WSP as an adviser through Dec. 31 to support the leadership transition before formally retiring.
