Danvers, MA— Hancock Associates has announced the promotion of Katherine Cruz, P.E., LEED AP, to the role of Engineering Manager.
In her new position, Cruz—known as “Katie” to colleagues—will take on a broad range of leadership responsibilities, including project oversight, quality assurance and control (QA/QC), design procedures, project allocation, and performance management. She will also lead business development initiatives, oversee personnel, and join Hancock’s marketing team, all while continuing her mentorship of junior staff.

With deep experience in all aspects of land development engineering, Cruz has managed projects from initial planning through construction. Her expertise spans site, drainage, and utility design, permitting, construction documentation, and project administration. She works closely with regulatory agencies, in-house surveying and environmental teams, and external consultants.
Her portfolio includes a wide range of project types and sizes—commercial, residential, educational, recreational, industrial, institutional, mixed-use, and healthcare developments—across urban, suburban, and rural settings.
Cruz joined Hancock Associates as an Associate in 2021 and was recently elected to the company’s Board of Directors. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Syracuse University and is a licensed Professional Civil Engineer in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. In addition, she is LEED AP certified, a licensed Soil Evaluator, and an active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). She resides in Amesbury, Massachusetts.
