BOSTON — Industrial software company Velotic is expanding its global footprint with a new headquarters in Boston, a growing technology and engineering presence in Hyderabad, India, and the launch of its corporate website, Velotic.com.
The moves represent a significant step in the company’s development since Velotic was formed earlier this year by bringing together the Kepware, Proficy, and ThingWorx industrial software businesses.
Velotic now has more than 1,200 employees across 27 countries, along with more than 150 partners and over 8,000 customers spanning manufacturing, energy, utilities, infrastructure and other critical industries.
Boston becomes global headquarters
Velotic has established its global headquarters at 268 Summer Street in Boston’s Fort Point district. The location is intended to serve as a central gathering place for employees, customers, partners and other stakeholders.
The company said approximately 45% of its U.S.-based workforce is located across New England, making Boston a natural base for its growing operations in the region.
The headquarters also reflects the company’s effort to establish a distinct identity following the creation of Velotic as an independent industrial software business.
Expanding technology presence in Hyderabad
Alongside its Boston headquarters, Velotic is establishing a significant presence in Hyderabad, India.
The company currently has approximately 250 employees in Hyderabad working across product development, engineering and services. Its new office is located in the city’s technology district, giving Velotic access to a large pool of technology and engineering talent.
The Hyderabad operation is expected to play an important role in supporting Velotic’s products and services as the company expands its global operations.
Velotic.com becomes the company’s digital home
The company is also strengthening its digital presence with the launch of Velotic.com.
Previously, information and resources related to Kepware, Proficy and ThingWorx were hosted within the digital environments of their former parent organizations, GE Vernova and PTC. Those resources are now transitioning to Velotic’s own online platform.
The new website gives customers and partners a direct destination to explore Velotic’s portfolio, learn about its industrial software offerings and access relevant resources.
Building an independent industrial software company
Velotic CEO Brian Shepherd said the company’s latest developments build on the established technologies and industrial expertise brought together when the company was launched.
“When we introduced Velotic earlier this year, we started with an incredible foundation – proven technologies, deep industrial expertise, and teams that have been serving customers for decades,” Shepherd said.
He described the Boston headquarters, Hyderabad expansion and new website as tangible signs of progress for the young company.
“More importantly, they give our customers, partners, and people more ways to connect with Velotic as we build for what comes next,” Shepherd said.
Velotic positions itself as an industrial software company focused on connecting industrial data and context with applications, workflows and execution. Its Kepware, Proficy and ThingWorx technologies are designed to help organizations connect devices and systems, analyze operational information and turn data into decisions and action.
With its new physical and digital locations, Velotic is moving toward establishing a standalone global identity while building on software platforms that have been used by industrial customers for decades.
