DEDHAM, Mass. — Nordblom Company has begun construction on Vantage, a new 154-unit multifamily residential community next to Legacy Place in Dedham.
The Burlington-based commercial real estate firm announced that construction is underway following the completion of demolition and site preparation at the former commercial property.
Vantage will replace two obsolete commercial buildings with a new residential development featuring 131 market-rate apartments and 23 income-restricted homes.
The project is located within walking distance of the Legacy Place retail district, including Whole Foods, as well as an MBTA Commuter Rail station. The location will provide future residents with access to shopping, dining and commuter rail service to Boston.
“Vantage represents a meaningful step forward in bringing new housing to Dedham and transforming an underutilized commercial site into a vibrant residential community,” said Patrick O’Neill, senior vice president at Nordblom Company. “Its location next to Legacy Place and within walking distance of the commuter rail makes it an especially compelling opportunity to create new homes in a highly connected setting.”
New apartments and community amenities
The planned development will include a range of amenities for residents, including a fitness center, resident work lounge and landscaped courtyard.
Vantage will also feature a sky lounge with a kitchen and outdoor terrace.
Construction is being led by Erland Construction, while Stantec is providing architecture and civil design services. According to Nordblom, the project team has a longstanding working relationship with the company and brings decades of combined experience delivering residential and commercial developments throughout the region.
Construction is expected to be completed in spring 2028.
Redevelopment of former commercial site
The Vantage project represents the redevelopment of a former commercial property into a multifamily residential community. Once complete, the development will add 154 homes to Dedham, including the 23 income-restricted units.
Its location adjacent to Legacy Place and near commuter rail will place residents close to an established retail and dining district while providing rail access to Boston.
Nordblom Company is a vertically integrated real estate firm with more than a century of experience in the industry. In recent decades, the company has acquired and repositioned more than 10 million square feet of real estate in the Greater Boston market.
Today, more than 20,000 people live or work in the more than 5 million square feet of multifamily residential, commercial and retail properties managed by Nordblom.
With construction now underway, Vantage is scheduled to deliver in spring 2028, replacing the former commercial buildings with a new multifamily community in one of Dedham’s established retail and transportation corridors.
