Dedham, MA – Legacy Place, in partnership with Boston Art, has unveiled its biggest public art installation to date, by acclaimed local artist Liz Roache.
The new larger than life mural, titled The Poppy Wall, is meant to be exactly as described – a wall filled with beautiful oversized poppies. Standing at over 40 feet tall and 75 feet long, the two-story high mural brings a vibrant splash of color to the shopping destination with giant, bold red flowers bursting with optimism. Through the mural’s use of colors, hues and light intensity, The Poppy Wall represents an energetic moment of joy and aims to bring happiness to all of its visitors, whether stopping to capture its essence or simply passing by.
The Poppy Wall is located on the exterior wall of Showcase Cinema de Lux across from Yard House.
“This project is very meaningful to me for many reasons, not only because of my long roots to the area but because I really believe that this mural will have the power, through its pure visual beauty, choice of color and shape, to express joy, positivity and warmth to all of us no matter where we’ve arrived from. My goal was to turn this wall space at Legacy Place, one we might typically drive by and not think about, into a bright and ever-the-more welcoming place. The flowers are meant to say ‘Hello! We are glad you’re here!’ to guests as they arrive at the property. I hope it makes everyone smile and brightens their day,” says artist Liz Roache. “We are always looking to bring joy to the community through special experiences. Liz’s work is absolutely stunning and a true showstopper at Legacy Place. From the beautiful colors and playful style to its massive size, it will evoke feelings of happiness and springtime even on the dreariest of New England winter days. We hope our guests will be delighted and revel in this magnificent body of work,” says Suzanne Kelly, General Manager of Legacy Place. The Poppy Wall is on showcase now at Legacy Place located at 680 Legacy Place, Dedham, MA.
