CHICAGO– JLL Property Management announced today that it has promoted Timothy Martin to Managing Director to lead the new U.S. life sciences property management business. In this role, he will focus on delivering innovative and consistent management solutions to investors, leveraging his in-depth knowledge of life science operations.

The formation of JLL Property Management’s national life sciences group comes at a time of unparalleled growth within the life sciences sector. According to JLL’s 2021 Life Sciences Lab Real Estate Outlook, early-stage venture capital funding reached $17 billion in the first half of 2021. This record investment in deals indicates emboldened investor optimism in life sciences and is expected to remain abundantly strong in the future terms.

“I am excited to partner with our property management teams nationally to leverage our best-in-class management platform and meet the unique demands of life science assets,” said Martin. “We are focusing on educating and preparing teams for the rapidly evolving demands of life science tenants and investors.”

Prior to his current role, Martin served as JLL’s Group Manager for a large institutional investor in East Cambridge, Massachusetts. In this position, he led a complex portfolio of life science, development, commercial office, residential and retail product types and partnered with a team of over 30 property management professionals. He has managed life science assets for nearly 20 years, including BioMed Realty Trust’s Center for Life Science in Boston. Martin began his career as a Tenant Coordinator with JLL/Spaulding and Slye in Boston’s Financial District.

“We are pleased to have Tim head our new national life sciences property management business,” said Mark Zettl, President of JLL Property Management. “With Tim’s new role and the launch of the group, JLL will further its capabilities in providing our expertise and advanced solutions to the rapidly growing life sciences sector.”

JLL’s 2,300 property management experts in the U.S. provide comprehensive real estate services in more than 1,200 buildings totaling more than 208 million square feet.
