Spanning a range of architectural and design perspectives, this group of senior level talent will build on HED’s existing skills in design, project management, medical planning, healthcare administration, data analysis, construction administration, and more.

According to Peter Devereaux, FAIA, Chairman of HED, this is an important strategic growth opportunity for the firm. “With our existing Boston office, paired with these focused talented additions in the healthcare sector, we are excited to continue building on our growing design portfolio in New England.”

Alberto Salvatore, joining the HED team as the firm’s National Healthcare Design Leader, has a long history of healthcare leadership and as a champion for design excellence. “I know HED as a strong competitive firm. The opportunity to join them today, helping to lead the growth of their healthcare presence here on the East coast, is an exciting step for me and each of my colleagues. This company has an incredibly collaborative, forward-thinking healthcare practice and I am thrilled to have the chance to join forces as a part of this inspiring team.”

HED leadership has identified healthcare as an important, fast-growing sector throughout the U.S. and beyond and has worked to build its team, resources, and technology to continue to create cutting-edge design solutions for this industry. The firm has long-held healthcare leadership in its Midwest and West Coast offices and is building additional strength in the sector around the country. As Devereaux points out, “Many of our clients in healthcare are growing at an incredibly fast pace. It is important that we keep up with them, in talent and capacity, to help apply our significant knowledge in the design of their unique facilities across the country.”

“Healthcare facilities today are in constant need of strategic planning and careful, ongoing improvements. Between technology’s rapid changes, shifting demographics, and population geographies in constant flux, healthcare operators need to remain two steps ahead of their future patient populations. Both of our teams have been leading this kind of strategic facility planning and design thinking for clients around the country, so this couldn’t be a better fit for us individually and for HED,” said Bobbe Young, a new Healthcare Studio Leader with the firm.

The new team members joined HED effective April 24th.

Since its founding in 1908, HED has earned a reputation for excellence in all facets of the designed and built environment, including architecture, consulting, engineering, and planning services. The firm of 400+ people serves clients in a broad range of market sectors from eight U.S. offices (Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, and Sacramento).
