DANVERS, Mass.— Hancock Associates has promoted Christina Essom to project manager, recognizing her more than a decade of contributions to the firm’s surveying operations.

Essom joined Hancock Associates in 2012 as a staff surveyor and was promoted to project surveyor in 2014. In 2025, she was named an associate of the company. In her new role, she will oversee project planning and execution while continuing to conduct research, perform boundary calculations and prepare plans used in land development and construction projects.

Her responsibilities will include drafting ALTA/NSPS, existing conditions and cadastral plans, supervising staff and field crews, and assisting with project estimates.

Essom studied at the Rochester Institute of Technology and is a member of the Massachusetts Association of Land Surveyors and Civil Engineers. She has also earned recognition in the organization’s annual Plan and Field Notes Contests, winning 10 awards.

At the firm, Essom is active in several internal groups, including the Emerging Professionals Group, the CAD Committee and the Events and Activities Committee.

“Christina has been an integral part of the Marlborough survey team for nearly 15 years,” said Wayne C. Jalbert, president of Hancock Associates. “During this time, she has worked on multiple high-profile development projects, making her well-equipped to handle the management of projects.”

Essom lives in Hopkinton, Massachusetts, and is involved in community activities including the Hopkinton Middle School Ski Club.
