Groom Construction Adds Two Project Managers Amid Continued Growth

SALEM, Mass. — Groom Construction Co., Inc., a general contracting firm specializing in commercial and national retail projects, has announced the addition of Jacob Grills and Samuel Marcionek as Project Managers, strengthening the company’s project management team as it continues to expand its portfolio.

mmercial development. Throughout his career, he has overseen complex renovations, occupied-space construction, life safety upgrades, and large-scale projects ranging from institutional improvements to urban redevelopment initiatives.

His expertise includes project management, subcontractor coordination, budgeting, scheduling, and oversight of technically demanding construction environments.

Samuel Marcionek joins Groom Construction with more than 15 years of experience across the architecture, engineering, and construction industry. He has managed projects from preconstruction through closeout in sectors including education, multifamily housing, municipal, retail, industrial, hospitality, life sciences, and commercial construction.

Marcionek is experienced in budgeting, procurement, scheduling, value engineering, and client coordination, and is known for his collaborative approach and ability to maintain strong working relationships among owners, design teams, and trade partners.

In their roles as Project Managers, Grills and Marcionek will oversee all phases of project execution, including budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, client communication, and project closeout. Both bring experience managing fast-paced, technically complex projects while ensuring alignment among stakeholders.

Grills earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and holds OSHA 30, CPR/AED, and Procore certifications. Marcionek earned a Bachelor of Science in Construction Technology from Fitchburg State University and maintains OSHA 30, CPR & First Aid, and Confined Space certifications.

The additions reflect Groom Construction’s continued investment in expanding its leadership team to support a growing pipeline of construction projects across the region.
