HAZLETON, Pa. — F.W. Webb Company, Green Leaf Construction and project partners gathered in Hazleton to celebrate the topping off of F.W. Webb’s new 738,654-square-foot Central Distribution facility, marking the completion of the building’s structural steel frame.
The milestone represents a major step forward for the project, which will expand F.W. Webb’s distribution capabilities across Pennsylvania and surrounding Mid-Atlantic markets. The Hazleton facility will be the company’s second Central Distribution facility.
“This building represents a significant investment in F.W. Webb and, more importantly, an investment in our customers,” said Jeff Pope, president and owner of F.W. Webb Company. “As we continue to grow in Pennsylvania and the surrounding markets, this facility will help us increase our capacity, improve product availability, and better serve our customers when and where they need us.”
The project has involved significant site preparation due to challenging subsurface conditions. Before construction could begin, Green Leaf Construction oversaw the blasting and excavation of more than 1 million cubic yards of rock. Much of the excavated material was crushed and reused on the property for grading, stabilization and infrastructure construction.
Once completed, the facility will serve as a modern distribution hub supporting F.W. Webb’s continued expansion. The building will include high-bay storage, 70 loading dock doors and infrastructure designed to accommodate high-volume distribution operations.
The topping off ceremony also recognized the extensive team behind the project, including designers, engineers, subcontractors, tradespeople, suppliers and employees from both Green Leaf Construction and F.W. Webb.
“This is an exciting milestone, not only because of the size and complexity of this project, but because of what it represents for F.W. Webb and the team that has brought it to this point,” said Andy McBeth, president of Green Leaf Construction. “A project of this scale takes an incredible amount of coordination, planning, and hard work.”
McBeth also credited the tradespeople working on the project for helping bring it to this stage safely and efficiently.
“We are proud of our entire project team and especially grateful to the tradespeople who have worked safely and diligently to make this milestone possible,” he said.
With the structural steel frame now complete, construction will continue through the remainder of 2026. The facility is currently scheduled to open in spring 2027.
The new distribution center will further strengthen F.W. Webb’s distribution network as the company expands its presence throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic.
The Hazleton project comes during an active period of expansion for the company. So far in 2026, F.W. Webb has opened new facilities in Central Islip, New York, and Somerdale, New Jersey. The company has also relocated existing stores into new facilities in Whippany, New Jersey, and Queensbury, New York.
