Newton, MA — Elaine Construction Company, Inc. has announced the promotion of Kim Newell to project executive, recognizing her leadership and track record managing complex projects across higher education, nonprofit, and commercial sectors.

Newell joined Elaine Construction in 2019 and has since played a key role on several high-profile and technically challenging assignments. Her project experience includes the renovation of Severance Hall, a 75,000-square-foot Gothic Revival residence hall at Wellesley College, as well as the recent overhaul of St. Francis House, New England’s largest day shelter. The St. Francis House project required careful coordination, as residents continued to occupy the upper floors throughout construction.

According to the company, Newell’s breadth of experience and strong observational skills have made her an effective partner on demanding projects, enabling her to navigate logistical complexity while driving consistent project outcomes.

In her new role, Newell will continue to oversee large-scale, multifaceted projects while expanding her focus on client relationship management and mentoring Elaine Construction’s project management team. The company noted that she has repeatedly been entrusted with some of its most complex assignments, where she has demonstrated an ability to manage teams, logistics, tariffs, and the many details that influence project success.

Beyond her professional work, Newell is actively involved in philanthropic efforts, volunteering with organizations including Make-A-Wish America, International Student Volunteers, and Project Hope & Compassion.

Newell holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Building and Construction from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
