Portsmouth, NH — Eastern Real Estate and The Kane Company have begun construction on Prescott Post, a 360-unit Class A multifamily development that will bring much-needed housing to New Hampshire’s Seacoast region. The project will transform a long-vacant retail site in Portsmouth into a residential community designed to align with the area’s scale, character, and natural landscape.
The development recently broke ground and is expected to deliver its first apartments in Q4 2026, with full completion planned for late 2027. Callahan Construction Managers is overseeing the construction of the market-rate community.
Located on a 26-acre site, Prescott Post will include a mix of three- and four-story buildings, nearly three acres of community and green space, and a range of floor plans including studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom residences. The project is geared toward the region’s growing base of professionals.
Planned amenities include co-working areas, an indoor/outdoor fitness suite with a yoga studio, outdoor kitchens, fire pits, a dog run with a pet wash station, and private garages. Units will feature quartz countertops, stainless steel Energy Star appliances, and in-unit washers and dryers.
The development is positioned near key Seacoast employers and destinations. Residents will have access to Pease International Tradeport, home to more than 250 companies and over 10,500 jobs; Portsmouth’s Market Square; Whole Foods; Strawbery Banke; and a range of shops and entertainment options. The region’s population has grown more than 8 percent since 2010, while housing supply has lagged demand—a gap Prescott Post is intended to help address.
