WOBURN, MA— Cummings Properties has been recognized as a 2025 Mass Save Climate Leader for its ongoing commitment to energy efficiency and sustainability across its commercial real estate portfolio.

The annual designation honors organizations demonstrating leadership in reducing carbon emissions. Cummings earned the distinction for initiatives such as installing nearly 150 electric heat pumps, thousands of LED lighting upgrades, improved insulation, and advanced HVAC controls, including dozens of variable frequency drives (VFDs).

“We recognize the environmental impact of our decisions and are proud to partner with Mass Save to support a cleaner, more resilient future,” said Ernie Agresti, vice president–administration at Cummings.

According to Mass Save, these efforts are expected to save more than two million kWh of electricity, the equivalent of avoiding greenhouse gas emissions from driving 4.4 million miles in a gas-powered car.

Beyond energy efficiency, Cummings incorporates rooftop solar, low-flow fixtures, green landscaping, and sustainable construction practices throughout its properties. The company also supports environmental nonprofits through the Cummings Foundation, which has awarded over $600 million to greater Boston organizations.

Cummings manages 11 million square feet of commercial space across 11 Massachusetts communities.
