CHARLESTOWN, MA — btone FITNESS has officially opened its newest Greater Boston location at 40 Warren Street in Charlestown, bringing its signature Pilates-inspired strength training workouts to one of Boston’s fastest-growing neighborhoods.

The new 1,500-square-foot studio marks the latest expansion for the Massachusetts-founded fitness brand, which already operates successful studios in Back Bay, the North End, South Boston, Dorchester, and Somerville. A Brighton location is also expected to open later this summer.

Located on the third floor of 40 Warren Street, the Charlestown studio features 12 customized reformers exclusive to btone FITNESS. The machines are designed to support highly personalized workouts that combine Pilates-inspired movements with resistance training, offering clients a low-impact but high-intensity full-body workout.

“We are thrilled to welcome btone FITNESS Charlestown to 40 Warren Street,” said Brandon Kelly, CEO of RJ Kelly (RJK), the building’s owner and developer. “Charlestown is a neighborhood that takes pride in supporting businesses with local roots, and btone FITNESS fits that spirit perfectly. As a Massachusetts-founded brand with a loyal following across Greater Boston, btone brings a wellness amenity that further solidifies 40 Warren’s position at the centerpiece of Charlestown’s live-work culture.”

The opening reflects continued growth at 40 Warren Street, where RJK has recently added several new tenants, including a local dental practice and an architecture firm. Leasing for the property is handled by JLL’s Bryan Sparkes and Brian Flaherty, while Dodge Tucker of Tucker Real Estate represented btone FITNESS in the lease transaction.

The Charlestown studio is co-owned and operated by North End residents and longtime btone instructors Kristen Bichler and Kyleigh Williams, who say the neighborhood has long been a target for expansion.

“We’ve had our sights set on Charlestown since the beginning days of taking and teaching btone classes, and 40 Warren Street is the perfect spot for a new btone FITNESS studio,” said Bichler and Williams in a joint statement. “The location combines the charm of one of Boston’s most historic communities with the energy of a thriving, emerging business district.”

The co-owners emphasized the accessibility and adaptability of btone’s workouts, which are designed for clients of all ages and fitness levels.

“btone is an upbeat, 45-minute, full-body workout that’s both highly effective and efficient,” they said. “It’s a hybrid of Pilates-inspired movements and resistance training that you can customize to meet you wherever you are in your fitness journey.”

Unlike traditional group fitness classes, btone’s workouts allow participants to tailor resistance and body positioning throughout each session, making it easier to safely modify exercises based on individual goals and experience levels.

The new studio also features oversized windows, high ceilings, and abundant natural light, creating an inviting environment for both first-time clients and longtime btone enthusiasts. Its location near public transportation and within walking distance of City Square Park, Tatte Bakery & Cafe, and Prima restaurant is expected to make it a convenient addition to Charlestown’s growing wellness and lifestyle scene.
