Bowdoin Construction Completes Stop & Shop Supermarket in Newton

NEWTON, MA–Bowdoin Construction recently completed the fitout of a new 20,950-square-foot store for Stop & Shop in Newton, MA.

Designed by Scott/Griffin Architects, this is a smaller store with a new logo and updated design, and is centered around making grocery shopping more convenient for customers.

The interior space features an open ceiling with painted deck, LED lighting, DuctSox in lieu of traditional hard ductwork, and a polished concrete slab.

Features of the store include a fresh produce department with more organic and locally sourced options; a full commercial kitchen with smoker, ovens, fryers, freezers, coolers and prep tables; a large prepared foods area with a wide range grab and go options; and self check-out with mobile payment and technology.

All work was completed within a four-month construction schedule.
