Biotech company leases 10,000 SF, relocates and expands in Beverly


BEVERLY, MA– International biotech firm Analytik Jena US will move from 6,600 square feet at West Cummings Park in Woburn, MA, to almost 10,000 square feet at Cummings Center in Beverly this month.

The firm has gone through several iterations, the latest of which was CyBio, since first leasing from Cummings Properties in 1998. In 2014, it was acquired by Germany-based Analytik Jena AG, a provider of instruments and products in the areas of analytical measuring technology and life science. Its portfolio includes liquid handling and laboratory automation products marketed under the CyBio brand.

Account Manager Kara Murphy of Cummings Properties worked with Analytik Jena US president Ian Hanegraaff to find the appropriate space.

“The size and diversity of our portfolio allows us to accommodate many needs, including offices, warehouses, and labs,” said Murphy. “In this case we were able to provide one of each—all for the same client.”

Analytik Jena’s new suites will be in Cummings Center’s 100 building, the second largest office building in Greater Boston.

“The office has the vaulted ceilings and highend finishes that Ian was looking for in a corporate headquarters,” said Murphy. “The warehouse space is adjacent to a covered loading dock that provides the access the company requires, and the lab space is the perfect demonstration area for visiting colleagues and clients.”

Cummings Center is also home to biotech and clean tech incubator North Shore Innoventures, as well as more than 50 other life science companies, including Qiagen, Hamilton Thorne Biosciences, and Waters.
