Bursting with historic homes and upscale mansions, Beacon Hill posted a $1,432,500 median sale price, a slight uptick from 2016 figures. The Suffolk County zip climbed one position in Massachusetts rankings, while on a national level it rose two positions, becoming the #81 priciest zip code in the U.S., according to PropertyShark.

Rising three spots over the course of the year, Wellesley Hills’ 02481 ranks as the #2 most expensive zip code in Massachusetts. With a median sale price of $1,400,000, Wellesley Hills is also the #97 most expensive zip code in the nation. 02481’s rise is thanks to a 9.6% increase in median sale price.
Maintaining its 2016 ranking thanks to a slight uptick in the median sale price, Newton’s 02468 remains the #3 priciest zip code in Massachusetts. The upscale zip boasts a $1,334,500 median price and covers the village of Waban, one of the most affluent communities in the country.
The #1 most expensive sale of the year was recorded in 02493 with 5 Concord Road, Weston, which traded hands for $15,600,000. The 9-bed Georgian boasts 12,589 square feet of living space with 18 acres of grounds that include orchards, gardens – including a perennial English garden –, and park-like grounds. A heated pool, 4,000+ bottle wine cellar, sauna, in-home gym, greenhouse, library, staff quarters, and a 4-car garage are just some of the estate’s pricey features.

The second most expensive sale of the year was recorded in Nantucket’s 02554, which with a $1,240,000 median sale price ranks as the #6 most expensive zip in the Commonwealth.
The #2 most expensive sale of 2017, 13 Squam Road, Nantucket enjoys an enviable oceanfront location in 02554. The 8-bed home comes with a tennis court, pool, a carriage house turned 3-car garage, landscaped gardens, and expansive outdoor living space with perks like a gas firepit. Sold in late August for $15,500,000, 13 Squam Road was outpriced by a mere $100,000 just two weeks later by 5 Concord Road.
