HARTFORD, CT –Hartford Prints reopened its store at 42 ½ Pratt Street after a major renovation led by Site Nouveau, a woman-owned architecture firm based in Hartford. The updated space now spans more than 3,500 square feet, nearly three times its original size.

The renovation was designed by Josye Utick, AIA, principal of Site Nouveau and chair of the Hartford Planning & Zoning Commission. The project included expanding into neighboring spaces, raising ceilings, and updating materials to better support the store’s growing product lines. The new design keeps elements of Hartford’s historic character while creating a more functional space for customers and staff.

“This project allowed us to respect the building’s history while making it more useful for the business and the community,” said Utick, who has 20 years of architectural experience, including international projects.

The collaboration between Hartford Prints! and Site Nouveau highlights the role of local women-owned businesses in improving Hartford’s downtown area.

“The Hartford Prints! expansion shows how local businesses can work together to strengthen our neighborhoods,” said Lt. Governor Susan Bysiewicz, who attended the reopening.

Founded in 2021, Site Nouveau has worked on several Hartford-area projects, including office spaces, retail showrooms, and planning work for larger developments.

“This project reflects a shared commitment to Hartford,” Utick said. “It’s about putting local knowledge and design to work in ways that benefit the community.”

The new Hartford Prints! location is now open to the public.
