BOSTON – Wise Construction announced that the firm has hired construction industry veteran Shawn Seaman as Chief Operating Officer.
Bringing over three decades of construction management, architecture and real estate development experience, he will be responsible for positioning the 37-year-old firm for greater market expansion as well as developing its project teams and enhancing operational processes.
Seaman joins Wise from The Fallon Company, LLC, where he served as the Chief Operating Officer responsible for daily operations and management of over $1.5 billion and three million square feet of development projects. In addition to leading teams of senior construction executives across the east coast, he focused on corporate growth strategy and led initiatives to enhance operational processes and infrastructure.
Prior to Fallon, Seaman served as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Suffolk Construction’s Healthcare and Science & Technology Divisions. The construction firm’s Healthcare and Science & Technology sectors expanded greatly during his 18-year tenure and Seaman led teams to deliver significant projects for clients such as BioMed Realty, Broad Institute, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston Children’s Hospital, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and UMass Medical School.
Over the course of his prolific career, Seaman has overseen seven million square feet of construction and been instrumental in cultivating, collaborating with, and leading successful project teams. He started his career in architecture, earning his Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Wentworth Institute of Technology, and is a licensed architect. Recognized for his hands-on management approach, mentorship and exemplary leadership style, Seaman is an ideal fit for the Wise culture and is poised to bring the firm great success.
“It goes without saying, Shawn is an industry all-star and brings a wealth of operational, construction and leadership expertise to our team,” said Wise Construction president John Wise. “But even more
importantly, Shawn’s authentic leadership style and collaborative approach will cultivate strong project teams and client relationships. He will be instrumental in driving the future success of our firm.”
As Chief Operating Officer at Wise, Seaman will provide leadership to Wise’s project and field teams as well as to all other areas of the business including preconstruction, administration, business development and marketing. A strong focus on operational excellence and mentorship will be critical to his role. Seaman will collaborate with Wise’s management team to define the future vision and corporate growth strategy of the firm, and to implement operational strategies to support these goals. Seaman will also oversee the firm’s robust project portfolio, ensuring the highest level of quality and service is achieved for each of its clients.
