Navigating the Current Lending Cycle

In today’s unpredictable economic environment, lenders are balancing opportunity with caution. Brandon offers his perspective on how CSB is navigating this cycle by focusing on high-touch, tailored financing solutions and building long-term relationships, particularly in the CRE, asset-based lending (ABL), and commercial and industrial sectors.

The interview also touches on CSB’s evolving approach to alternative lending platforms. From providing debt to borrowers with fund platforms to expanding ABL capabilities.

Brandon also emphasizes the importance of CSB’s mutual bank structure, which allows the institution to deliver private banking-style service without the exclusivity of a formal private banking division.

CSB is not only growing its commercial portfolio—it’s also expanding its physical footprint. The recent opening of a new branch in Dorchester marks the bank’s 19th location, reflecting a continued commitment to underserved communities.

A well-known figure in the region’s real estate and banking circles, Brandon is actively involved with organizations including REFA, NAIOP, ULI, and the Real Estate Lenders Association. He also serves on the financial advisory board at the Winchendon School and is a member of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s Presidents Circle.

Born in Switzerland and raised in Newton, MA, Brandon brings a global perspective and a grounded approach to his role. He currently lives in Boston with his wife and daughter.
