Mr. Maguire’s work as MIT Investment Company Director continued with his role in the acquisitions and redevelopments of numerous properties near and around the MIT campus including Technology Square, 640 Memorial Drive, properties in Cambridgeport and the Osborn Triangle. Binney St in Cambridge with approximately 3 million square feet of properties has been fully transformed with Biotech, pharmaceutical companies, offices apartments and retail.
In 2004, Mr. Maguire transitioned to Alexandria Real Estate Equities where his focus turned to the northern edge of Kendall Square at Binney Street, where he and his team developed over one million square feet of commercial office, lab and residential buildings.
Mr. Maguire’s interest and work in sustainability initiatives includes state-of-the-art energy conservation components in his development projects. In addition, along with city staff and other developers, Mr. Maguire was an original member of the energy committee that developed the Cambridge Building Energy Use Disclosure Ordinance.
Mr. Maguire developed and fostered relationships with city staff, business owners and residents of the Kendall neighborhoods over his almost 40 years in Kendall Square.
