STURBRIDGE, MA — A Sturbridge shopping plaza anchored by Walmart and Stop & Shop has been sold for $30.6 million to an Atlanta-based real estate firm, as part of a broader $1.1 billion national transaction, the Worcester Business Journal reported.

The Center at Hobbs Brook, located at 100 Charlton Road, is an open-air shopping center offering 231,197 square feet of leasable space. The sale was finalized on April 1, according to records from the Worcester District Registry of Deeds.

“The plaza was purchased by an entity managed by RCG Ventures of Atlanta,” WBJ reported. “The seller was Rhode Island-based firm Global Net Lease, and the sale was part of a deal where GNL offloaded 59 multi-tenant retail properties across the country.”

This Walmart-anchored property is one of the largest open-air shopping centers in Central Massachusetts, located between Worcester and Springfield in Sturbridge. The center is easily accessible from I-90, I-84, and Route 20, drawing a wide customer base.

RCG Ventures is the retail real estate investment arm of Argonne Capital Group, a private equity firm also based in Atlanta.
