Boston— The Urban Land Institute (ULI) Boston/New England announced the launch of its Small-Scale Development Council, a new initiative aimed at connecting and supporting professionals involved in independent, entrepreneurial, and community-oriented real estate development.

The Council will provide a collaborative platform for developers, architects, capital providers, attorneys, builders, and other professionals engaged in small-scale development, redevelopment, and infill projects across the region. Its focus is on projects that enhance livability, walkability, and neighborhood character, while contributing to the long-term vibrancy and resilience of urban areas.

“The Small-Scale Development Council reflects ULI’s commitment to supporting innovation and inclusivity in the real estate community,” said Michelle Landers, Executive Director of ULI Boston/New England. “We’re creating a space where independent developers and creative practitioners can share experiences, exchange ideas, and shape more livable urban environments.”

In an effort to foster a broad and diverse network, the Council is open to both ULI members and non-members during its inaugural year. Non-members will have the opportunity to participate for one year and experience ULI’s extensive collaborative network firsthand.

The Council will be co-chaired by Halle Auerbach Thomas, Owner’s Representative at Tierney Development Services, and Jason Denoncourt, Vice President at Renovo Financial. Together, they will lead efforts to connect professionals and highlight exemplary small-scale developments across New England.

The new Council underscores ULI’s broader mission to shape the future of the built environment through education, research, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
