FRAMINGHAM, MA — Urban Edge Properties (NYSE: UE) has signed nearly 6,000 square feet in new leases at Shoppers World in Natick, MA, marking the first new tenant additions since the company acquired the property.
Three food-focused tenants—Atlantic Poke, Sweetgreen, and Playa Bowls—will open later this year, bringing a fresh, health-conscious mix to the shopping center’s dining options. The new restaurants are expected to attract customers seeking quick, nutritious meals.
Atlantic Poke and Playa Bowls will share newly built space adjacent to Best Buy, while Sweetgreen will occupy a location next to Chipotle.
-
Atlantic Poke (1,860 SF): A Massachusetts-based concept offering sushi-inspired poke bowls with ingredients like raw tuna, salmon, shrimp, chicken, and house-made sauces.
-
Playa Bowls (1,925 SF): Known for its açaí, pitaya, and coconut bowls, Playa Bowls emphasizes sustainability and community-driven values.
-
Sweetgreen (2,022 SF): A mission-driven chain focused on real food, Sweetgreen will serve salads, warm bowls, and protein-rich plates.
“These new tenants bring a fresh, healthy approach to dining to the dedicated customers of Shoppers World,” said Joshua Birns, Vice President of Leasing at Urban Edge. “This is our first opportunity to add to the merchandise mix since taking ownership of the center and is just the beginning of what we anticipate to come.”
The leasing activity involved several representatives: Sweetgreen worked with Matt Curtin of Newmark, Playa Bowls was represented by Christian Janelle of SRS Real Estate Partners, and Urban Edge’s Ronnie Bertrand led both the Atlantic Poke and Playa Bowls deals. Urban Edge’s in-house team also handled representation for the Sweetgreen lease.
